Half shell

I am going to give the Chic on a Half shell another try because The Crochet Dude was so kind to post a comment about wanting to see the finished piece. I don't want to let him down. And it really is a cute purse!

I will have to try it out for a few days to see if it is too small. I like the way it looks, so I hope it works out.

What should I work on now??? (I am thinking about the baskets from Bernat)

Found a new purse pattern

Found a new pattern posted on Craftster that I am going to try. This one seems a little more straightforward. Spring Break is coming. I should be working on my comps . . . but I hope to get some crocheting done also.

Half Shell Disaster

Chic on the Half Shell didn't turn out right. I am not sure what I did wrong. But it did provided for some late night entertainment. (Still need a purse.)

Crochet Crush

I received an email from Anthropologie yesterday letting my know about their crush on crochet. I see crocheted items everywhere . . . it so popular right now. My friend recently told me that crocheters outnumber knitters 3 to 1. I don't know where that statistic comes from, but all it takes is a look around any clothing store to notice that people seem to have a crush on crochet right now.

Turtle Power

I start Chic on the Half Shell from The Crochet Dude on Sunday. The name reminds me of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song. I had to rip it a few times only because I think I know what I am doing and so I don't read the directions and then I realize my intuitions weren't quite right. So, I go back and read the directions and have my Aha! moment. With that being said, it wouldn't have taken me long to work up the whole purse, but right now I only have one side finished. I hope to finish it next Sunday and have myself a cute little purse. I have so many things I want to start. I think I might try doing one of the Bernat Large Stash Baskets for my next project. I am trying to stay away from the long involved projects for now because anything could distract me from my studies right now.
